hi, chicago—let me reintroduce myself
i’m heather, the founder, designer and maker behind tori grace outfitters.
this small shop began almost 20 years ago, with me making hair bows for tori, our tiny baby girl. I was making bows for her because i couldn’t find any that didn’t leave a dent in her forehead. one thing led to another, as small-business stories tend to do and making those bows grew into a shop filled with original chicago inspired apparel, accessories, home decor and gifts.
today, every design still begins with me in my ravenswood studio. a lot of pieces are made by hand right here, and some are handmade, fair-trade in a co-op in mumbai. i care deeply about quality, ethical production and making things people will wear and pass down for years - not just until chicago changes seasons again, which could happen before you finish reading this.
most of all, i love creating pieces that feel like chicago: clean lines, classic icons, the neighborhoods, landmarks, iconic symbols, favorite teams and a few iykyk designs that only a chicagoan will recognize.
the holidays are coming…
i know, i am still hoping to hit the beach a few more times, it feels early—but chicago will go from patio weather to “why do we live here again?” before we know it.
our iconic chicago pajamas are made from soft, organic cotton and covered in hand-drawn chicago icons, including a few iykyk favs. they are designed in chicago and ethically made in india. we make them in sizes for the whole family, including our pets.
shop iconic chicago pajama line
they’re perfect for holiday mornings, family photos, cozy nights and anyone who believes pajamas count as an outfit between december 24 and january 2.
our chi flag, transit lines and chi handshake hoodies are great for fall tailgating and winter bonfires. grab a chi flag, chi, bears beanie to go with.
something new is coming…
i recently started making marshall field’s shirts, and the response has been crazy. chicagoans clearly still have a lot of love for that iconic dept store on state street now named something we don't ever call it. i will actually be there this year at the macy's holiday square – check the website for specific dates and times.
they aren’t on the website quite yet, but they’re coming soon. consider this your official sneak peek…and keep an eye on your inbox!
whether you’ve been shopping with me since the hairbow days or you just discovered tori grace outfitters, i’m so glad you’re here. every order, kind word, festival visit and recommendation has helped this small chicago shop keep growing.
thank you for supporting handmade work, ethical production, original design and one very grateful chicago maker.
~cheers
